Synopsis
Kanni Maadam narrates the tale of a Madurai-based couple who runs for their life to Chennai as the relatives of the boy are quite enraged by their act. When both of them start a new life slowly and steadily, a tragedy hits them in the form of a road accident. Malar (Saya Devi) takes quite some time to come to terms with Kathir's (Vishnu) demise, but struggles hard to come up in life when she realizes that she is going to be a mother. Two auto rickshaw drivers, who live nearby her home, come he her rescue (Sreeram and Murugadoss). How she faces various challenges from different quarters form the rest of the story.

Amazing movie
A good tamil movie for 2020
Two auto drivers, who are also close relatives. One night, a married couple on the run, Kathir (Vishnu) and Malar (Chaya Devi), from Madurai board Anbu's auto. Incidentally they rent a house next to Anbu's.
Malar is from a lower caste, and so Kathir's rich relatives come to the city with the intention of killing them. Even as the couple start settling down in life, tragedy strikes and Kathir dies in a road accident. And, Malar is pregnant. So now, Anbu helps her to relocate to a new house but the new landlady (Priyanka Shankar) mistakes for husband and wife. Yet more trouble comes in the form of Anbu's prisoner father (Gajaraj), who is out on parole. An unexpected climax follows.
Decent first half but post interval the story picks up momentum. Director conveys the message on casteism without going overboard.
Must Watch..
Watched a good movie with social message after a long time. Everyone in the movie has done 100% justification for their role. Hero's acting was excellent, he conveyed everything in expression. All the best team. Looking forward for good scripts like this from Boss Venkat.
